How it was built.

Transcripts were split into some 31,000 passages, clustered into twenty-four topics by term frequency and deterministic k-means, then read. The clusters are the backbone of the chapters that follow. The quotations are not written by hand: a script scores every quotable passage for length, sentence integrity, topical relevance and freedom from caption noise, then selects the best candidate for each section. Pinned quotations are re-derived from the transcript at build time and checked word by word — the build fails if a word has drifted.

  • 12 short chapters
  • 24 topic clusters
  • Every quote verbatim
  • Talk and timestamp for each
  • Notes cite every source

In the author’s words.

Frequency is not correctness. Where a position is held by a minority of speakers, this book says so rather than averaging it into a consensus.
